The best option, especially in a small restaurant like ours, is to make a reservation. Clearly, running a small business, however charming, requires a lot of extra work: shopping, preparation, accounting, and general upkeep. If there's no one in the café, the weather's bad, and the card players and musicians have all gone elsewhere, we turn off the ovens here in the kitchen, save money, and put the little sign on the door marked "Fermé/Geschlossen." But it's with immense pleasure and a smile that we'll see you again next time. Now you know everything.
