A good little restaurant is, above all, a place about everyday things: a familiar space, a good coffee, a friendly atmosphere with smiling people. But sometimes, something exceptional happens. You'll read about it here.
Evolution and change, but gently done
When you take over a well-known neighborhood café, it's nice not to turn everything upside down overnight. People have their little routines, their preferences, and even if you can never please everyone, it's also fun to discover and experiment. Otherwise, you wouldn't take it over.
That's the "Aurélia touch": gently observing what works, tweaking little things, updating the decor, and adding daily lunch specials during the week, all for the enjoyment of our customers. Croissants and rolls baked fresh on-site that morning, homemade meals that vary for the lunch menus, a superb and much-loved roast beef (which wasn't on the menu before, in a bygone era), and occasionally "Stubetä" evenings of folk music, performed by local talents. Restaurant de l'Ange, a bit of a "guardian angel" because our establishment also has its lucky star and its Fribourg-Gottéron hockey stars, who pop in on occasion. Whether you enjoy eating in a lively, neighborhood atmosphere inside, or quietly on the magnificent terrace during the beautiful season (already underway), we look forward to welcoming you.
(Attached are photos of some homemade platters, prepared to order and served recently for a family gathering.)
Meh, darling, always the same thing...
Well, no! This year, the Bolzes Carnival is celebrated from February 13th to 17th, and that, my friends, means your sweetheart will be celebrating two romances at the same time. For Valentine's Day, you have to behave yourself, and if you're celebrating Carnival, you shouldn't drive too much, as everyone knows. But, have a great time, and take care of your sweetheart. Come find us at L'Ange, just take a little detour, the two of you, to the other side of the old wooden bridge.
The one you'll find at "L'Ange" is pretty famous.
It can't be said enough. Fondue is better in winter than under the bright summer sun. And so the time has come. Your sweetheart, kids, the fondue pot and a good kilo of regional cheeses, let's go!
People grew up here on music. Some are still here, others willingly return for a "chlini Schtubeta"
Working class neighbourhoods are famous, the world over, for their music. Fado, Flamenco, Irish Celtic and American Country, among others, and the Swiss also have their own, thanks to the Schwytzerörgeli and fabulous yodelling traditions. The "Ange" has been hosting musical get-togethers for as long as people remember and here, people remember a very long time. A musical sample...
